My last bio of 5 years ago stands - the biggest change since then was a change in life style 8 months ago when I fell on a gorilla trek in Uganda, Africa and injured my right hand/wrist/forearm (and broke my ankle). I have a permanent nerve problem, a slightly deformed wrist and have lost certain hand capabilities. It has curtailed my future plans to continue to go to third world countries to work with endangered animal species, as I have been doing for 10 years. The last 5 years I have been to Uganda to work with Chimpanzees, Indonesia to work with orangutans, Sri Lanka to work with elephants, and this last jaunt last October to work with chimps again and work at a wildlife center - the gorilla trek was at the beginning of my planned month stay, so had to fly home to get medical help after almost a delay of a week. My adult children took my passport away and are not allowing me to go out of the country again. Seriously!! Other travel since the last reunion: Austria/Switzerland; Cayman Islands (snorkeling with sting rays, para sailing, etc), Vancouver Island (wilderness camping, kayaking and following the orca whales); San Diego, KeyWest, Tampa, Raleigh, Dallas, Montana (to visit Relly Cadmus); Mexico - Sea of Cortez (to follow the grey whales), and Utah. The day after the reunion I will be traveling to Nova Scotia/Prince Edward Island/New Brunswick for a 10 day trip. I continue to work as a certified alcoholism and drug addiction counselor part time at a local agency and am also the Quality Assurance Coordinator there. In addition I am a 'personal care assistant' to 2 elderly ladies with emotional/physical/mental health problems. Life is good. . . .
