After high school I attended SUNY at Fredonia where I received my Bachelor's Degree in Music Ed. Later I attended SUNY at Buffalo, Potsdam and Fredonia and received my Master's Degree in Organ Performance and Music Ed.
I retired in 1994 and in 1995 I moved to Palm Springs, CA where, over the last 12 years I have kept busy with a number of jobs. Church organist/choir director, taught a Music Ensemble at the local college, worked as Coordinator of the volunteer staff for the Palm Springs International Film Festival and was Artistic Director of the Gay Men's Chorus of Palm Springs are a few of the things that have kept my retirement interesting.
My most satisfying success would be my teaching career of 33 years. I am best known for my music. Growing up in the 1940's and 50's was a time that was spent with my family. Someone was always home, and my parents were supportive in all that I did. They did not try to be a "buddy", and disciplined with a firmness and love. I believe the kids today lack most of what I just said. Life is fast-paced, everyone has to work, they don't spend enough time as a family.
If someone were to make a movie of my life, (god forbid) I think I would like Sean Connery in the title role. Of course that would now be the later years. The background music would be Classical, using the music of J. S. Bach and Gustav Mahler.
Ah, words of wisdom. Live each day as if it were your last, always tell those you care about that you love them, and laugh often. One must have a sense of humor.
